that happened here today
you can tell me fast or slow
but tell me anyway

I made your bed 
When you went to school
If that’s not love
Then I’m a fool

I cleaned your tub for
no more than a belly rub 
If that’s not love
well you know 

A test a riddle a rhyme 
A reason or a season 
Or a time or a rest 
Is still a message 

Put your money on the line
Better yet your life 
Betcha change your sign 
Hard up on strife 
I’m of the mind we
should be making our owns
things, get me? Our own
strings and bells and whistles
thistles bring bristles and
scars like your throat after
driving past too many cars
past too many liars 
And situations of great 
Tension. Did I mention we
should be making our own
thangs? I think I did I think
I did. 

Something is

in me

dewdrop oleander fresca monday
sunshine salamander basketball blues say
grapevine lemonade caravan tuesday 

i could feel you 
from a thousand miles 
away and i still do
i could know
every thing 
about you and still want
to learn more 
i make promises i can’t keep
i keep promises i can’t make
i turn into you as i sleep 
drink you up
forget myself in the lake
